WVTESOL 2026

To Our WVTESOL Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the difficult news that the 2026 WVTESOL Annual Conference has been canceled.

This was not an easy decision, and it did not come lightly. After careful consideration and honest discussion, we determined that, given the current professional and political climate, ongoing funding challenges, and lower-than-expected participation, we would not be able to host the successful and impactful conference our members and community deserve this year.

We know how much this conference means to our members, our presenters, our sponsors, and our broader community. Your time, energy, and support mean so much to us, and we are deeply grateful for each of you. We especially appreciate those who had already registered, submitted proposals, or were planning to attend. If you have pre-paid for the conference, you will be receiving a full refund in the coming weeks. Our team is working to make this process as smooth and timely as possible. While the 2026 conference is canceled, we are already looking ahead. We will soon begin collecting nominations for our 2027 Executive Board, and we encourage you to consider getting involved in this important work.

We are more committed than ever to our mission of advocating for multilingual learners, supporting educators, and building a strong, inclusive professional community. We will be back stronger next year with a full conference, and we can't wait to see you in 2027!
